CQ WPX SSB 2015 as OL9A SOSB20(A)

This was my first time single op on 20m band. It was not my favorite band but now I am looking forward to run again :) We were thinking about Multi/Multi but did not find enough operators. Than Standa OK1CID run 15m SOSB(A) as OL7M and I 20m SOSB(A) as OL9A.

Standa donated 2el HB9CV for 15 and 20 so we spent Friday on the tower to get it ready with new Stack Match II. by our RemoteQTH.com. Finally all works :)

        antenna measuring in 18m :)

becoming crazy

And what about the contest... I didn't have any experience with 20m so it all were suprise for me! Band was open from 0 UTC and I was late abt 25min. There were nice signals from NA and I have never heard so many times : booming, very strong :) Nice start, isn't it? Another nice thing, LP to VK and ZL. Totaly 40 x VK and 10 x ZL worked, most via LP. The highlight? For sure Dave VK2BSY with his "walking mobile!". Really nice signal Dave via LP! Another ones: 13 x  KL7, 6 x KH6, Victor E51USA, FO8AA, H4 and a lot of mobiles not only from USA. Worked  1000 x USA and 100 x VE. But where there are JA stations???

Anyway all worked fine and new small HB9CV to SA and AF dir helped to catch some PY ane LU in the QRM.

mcHF - my new toy, part I.

What is mcHF? It is really nice HF SDR TRX. Yes, SDR but you do NOT need PC :) Have a look at home web by Chris M0NKA. Chris provides PCBs and LCD with very quick shipping. There are my ones :)

Playing with new HW

There are some new projects. First one is 6-to-6 interlock system for 6 to 6 switching. This is main "brain" of it. Optocouplers at inputs, relays at outputs. Each TRX will have controller with PTT and HOT switch protection. You can control it with simply rotary switch or push buttons or CAT.

Another ones are 6-to-1 switch controller and stack match controller. First one allows you to control 6-to-1 antenna switch, basicly with push buttons but also with CAT or Ethernet (IP version).

Stack match controller could be use as multibeaming controller (with small hand box) or antennas stack - 1/2/3 + BiP, BoP etc. Again web controll as the option. Included hot switch protection and PTT sequencing...

There is our Open interface and we would like to work at version 2. With some new features as PTT interlock input, AF MOD way switching, RTTY TX text decoder etc... (Thanks Goody K3NG for help!)

ARRL DX CW 2015 - nice M/M action

What a nice contest! This was nice Multi-Multi action after a year. Really nice to meet old and new friends. We lost a little bit on 160m and 10m maybe thanks our mistake with missing CQ in F1 message. Skimmers did not spot us as the others :( Anyway we did have really nice time and not only contesting is important!

Thanks a lot for nice battle with IR1Y friends on CqContest.ru and congratulation guys!

CQ WPX RTTY 2015 - SOSB 80HP

There is CQ WPX RTTY contest again! I was disappointed by the participation at 80m last year. My dream 1k QSOs was really away. It was little bit better in 2015.

We met together with Pavel OK1MU on Thursday and started preparing the QTH. We do have new HP PCs and I hope to get ready the station in the better time :)

Pavel operated as OK6W in SOSB 40m and I on 80m. The propagation looked good but participation was really low :(

CQ WW 160 CW 2015

Call: OL7M
Operator(s): OK1CW OK1DF OK1FIA OK1MU OK1RK OK2ZAW
Station: OL7M
Class: Multi-Op HP
QTH: JO80CF
Operating Time (hrs): 40
Location: Northern Europe
Total:QSOs1493State/Prov35Countries72Total Score902,224

Overall poor conditions and lower turnout than in the previous years ... The best hour race was 167 QSO. There were bad condx US in Saturday, only 25 states, the Sunday was a little bit better. The only US from WC was N7GP from AZ. This year we had only temporary and short BVRGs: 2 x 260 m dir US 1 x 180 m dir US 1 x 170 m dir JA 1 x 160 m dir VK 1 x 100 m dir AF 1 x 210 dir SA 1 x 240 m dir Caribbean K9 Anyway we need to learn something new - tower detuning. It was really terrible to "see" our RBN signals in NA. We are missing a lot of dBs. Our new 30m (100fts) tower with 5el 20m Yagi works as perfect reflector to our 42m vertical antenna. Unfortunately it is situated in 320deg directly to NA... The JA direction worked fine, we were there over 40dB. Thank you for all the QSOs. The log is already on LoTW. See you in WPX RTTY and ARRL DX CW.. Pavel OK1MU, on behalf OL7M team
